By India Today Web Desk: PSG superstar Neymar has denied the corruption charges leveled against him and said he signs everything his father asks him to at the trial hearing. The Brazil captain is in Barcelona for his trial over alleged irregularities in his transfer to the Catalan club from Santos.

Speaking at the court hearing, Neymar said he did not participate in the transfer negotiations, which were all conducted by his father.

“I didn’t participate in the negotiations (between Santos and Barcelona). It was all done by my father. He has always taken care of my business and always will. I always sign everything he asks me to,” said Neymar.

The 30-year-old said his dream was to play for Barcelona even though many other top clubs were interested in him.

“I had options to move to many different clubs. They wanted me to play for them. But my dream had always been to play with Barca. I wanted to play there since I was a kid. Because of the players they had and because of the entity of the club. I remember Real Madrid was interested. I don’t remember other clubs. But towards the last minute it was Barcelona and Real Madrid. And I followed my heart and chose Barca,” Neymar added.

The Brazilian is among the nine defendants on trial for corruption-related charges, along with his parents and their N&N company, which manages his affairs. Among the other defendants are two former Barcelona presidents, Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu, and ex-Santos boss Odilio Rodrigues Filho. All defendants have denied any wrongdoing.

If convicted, Neymar could face two years in jail and a 10-million-euro fine.

On the football pitch, the Brazilian is enjoying one of his best seasons in a PSG shirt. The forward has registered nine goals and seven assists in 11 Ligue 1 matches.
