  • Curran spoke on England players taking part in PSL

England all-rounder Sam Curran said that his team is trying to pick the brains of its players for the ongoing seven-match T20I series against Pakistan. The 24-year-old Curran said that, having played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), some of their players have decent knowledge about conditions in Karachi and Lahore.

Curran is currently taking part in the ongoing seven-match T20I series against Babar Azam’s Pakistan. The Young Turk said that playing against some of the best players in the PSL has benefitted some of the England players in their careers.

Curran also reckoned that the current series has given England a great chance to prepare well for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be played in Australia.

“There’s obviously a load of guys who have come out to the PSL, which they’ve all had an amazing time at and we’ve spoken to them about different conditions that we might face and obviously played against some of the players we playing against. So their experience will be great for us as a team to pick their brains in practice and training and stuff like that,” Curran was quoted as saying to PCB.

“But for a lot of the guys, it is their first time touring here. So that’s going to be exciting and great preparation for the World Cup.”

Curran was also of the opinion that Pakistan is a team that cannot be taken lightly, since the Men in Green have some genuine match-winners in their ranks.

“I’ve played against a few of the guys at the Under-19 World Cup as well, like Shadab Khan, which was pretty cool. Pakistan are a very strong team and boast some very dangerous players. We will be trying our best and I’m sure they will be as well,” he added.

With the series locked at 2-2 after the Karachi leg at National Stadium, the Lahore leg at Gaddafi Stadium is set to get underway on September 28.
