New Delhi:

A 40-year-old man was arrested following a short gunfight on Saturday for allegedly raping a six-month-old lady in northwest Delhi’s Samaypur Badli space, police stated.

His pal, who can also be charged with raping the toddler’s teenage sister, is absconding, they stated.

Police recognized the arrested man as Kamal Malhotra alias Chinu, a resident of Jahangirpuri, and the absconding accused as Raj alias Raju.

The complainant knowledgeable the police that she had two daughters – one is 14 years outdated and intellectually disabled, and one other six months outdated – and that she didn’t discover them as she returned house after work on Friday night.

She heard screams within the neighbourhood and located Chinu and Raju allegedly raping her daughters. On seeing the girl, they fled from the spot, the police stated, referring to the criticism.

The ladies had been taken to hospital for therapy. Thereafter, an FIR was registered and investigation taken up, police stated.

On Saturday, Chinu was discovered at a park close to the Samaypur Badli Metro station. The police requested him to give up however he didn’t hear. In retaliatory firing, a bullet hit him on a leg, following which he was nabbed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer north) Brijendra Kumar Yadav stated.
